Minutes of October 24, 2024 were approved.
AH made a motion to go into non-public session. TL seconded.
2024-38 (CG) Needs car repairs totaling $472.75 to be able to register the car in December. CH motioned to give her the money. AH seconded. Motion passed.
2024-37 (CS) Applicant is married with two children. Still going back and forth to Hanover for doctor’s appointments. Town Welfare is helping with rent for the month and will help with getting on a payment plan with Eversource. Husband’s car needs to be registered and inspected and she is lacking money for Christmas for her kids. CJ made a motion to cover the registration and inspection and two gift cards, one for $250 at the Village Toy Store and one for $250 at Walmart to cover holiday and necessary expenses. TL seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Four families in town known through the food pantry are struggling to provide for their children for the holidays. DF will check with them about filling out an application to submit to Bethlehem Cares for assistance.
TL moved to come out of non-public session. CJ seconded.
AC suggested a possible candidate to join the committee to fill in for the exiting of some of the original members. The committee will look into this at a future date.
Conversation ensued about the Children’s Fund and parents looking for assistance with Friday activity expenses. Suggestions were made about how to make families aware of this fund and its intended use.
CJ moved for adjournment. CH seconded.
