Meeting Minutes
June 2nd, 2025
In person – Chairwoman Strand, Selectman MacDonald, and Select Woman Knowles. Select Woman Hibberd attended remotely.
Nonpublic Meeting to begin at 6:00- Chairwoman Strand motioned to go into nonpublic per RSA 91A-3 II for reasons of personnel. Selectman MacDonald seconded and roll call followed. Chief Galloway discussed personnel with the board.
Public Input- Chairwoman Strand opened the meeting at 6:12 and explained that the board planned on discussing the STR process on 6/16.
Plastics Resolution/ Orchard Proposal for Community Garden- Chairwoman Strand explained the Plastic Resolution that the Conservation Commission, Sustainability Working Group, and Transfer Station Committee have adopted would be discussed by the board on 6/16.
Barry Zitzer, Sustainability Working Group and Transfer Station Committee, requested that the Sustainability Working Group use a small parcel of land by the solar array to plant a small fruit tree orchard. There was discussion regarding Community Garden usage and Martie Cook recommended the town have a Gardner or Manager overseeing the Community Garden. There was discussion on the spacing of the trees to make mowing easier for Highway Department.
Select Woman Knowles motioned to approve the Sustainability Working Group planting an orchard by the solar array. Selectman MacDonald seconded and all were in favor.
RFP Skate Park/ Town Building Front Steps- The board discussed the RFP’s and it was agreed to post them as is.
Policy Review- Selectman MacDonald motioned to approve the amended Milage Policy. Select Woman Knowles seconded and all were in favor.
Abatements- Chairwoman Strand motioned to approve the recommendations from the accessor as follows:
Deny Map& lot 205-117
Partially approve Map & Lot 405-2 reducing the value from $3,200 to $1,800
Partially approve Map & Lot 413-13 reducing the value from $517,478 to $410,000
Partially approve Map & Lot 413-13 reducing the value from $1,344,154 to $1,000,254
Grant abatement for Map & Lot 409-11 reducing the value from $152,000 to $48,900
Grant abatement for Map & Lot 405-83 reducing the value from $482,300 to $392,000
Minutes 5/19- Selectman MacDonald motioned to approve the 5/19 minutes. Select Woman Knowles seconded and all were in favor.
Updates and other business- Selectman MacDonald updated the board on the recent cleanup efforts of the skate park by the community mentioning the great turnout of volunteers.
Chairwoman Strand made a motion to adjourn at 7:00. Selectman MacDonald seconded, and all were in favor.
